The BJP is giving the final shape to its special “Operation 17” for Telangana. Operation 17 entails winning all the 17 MP seats in Telangana.

The party has prepared a blueprint to make a clean sweep in Telangana to sent a message to the ruling TRS. The party's Central leadership has prepared this and has reportedly directed the state BJP unit to implement the plan in a methodical way.

The BjP already has four MP seats – Adilabad, Karimnagar, Secunderabad and Nizamabad. It lost Mahabubnagar narrowly in 2019. Now the party is aiming to win the remaining seats by scouting for good and winnable candidates. The process, according to the party sources, has already begun.

The party is wooing former MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy for Chevella. The party's top leadership has already met Konda several times and requested him to join the BJP and be its candidate from Chevella.

Similarly, the party has two strong leaders in Mahabubnagar in DK Aruna and AP Jitender Reddy. Both are resourceful and well-connected leaders.

Similarly, it is eyeing Komatireddy Venkat Reddy for Nalgonda and Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy for Khammam. Komatireddy has recently met PM Narendra Modi.

His brother Rajagopal Reddy has given enough indications that he is all set to join the BJP. Similarly, Ponguleti too is planning to join the BJP.

In Zaheerabad, the BJP is eyeing an industrialist with deep connections with Maharashtra BJP. There are other leaders that the BJP is eyeing and more names are likely to tumble out soon.
