GHMC Elections: BJP Realized Its Mistake!
By: Tupaki Desk | 26 Nov 2020 12:56 PM GMTThe Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) was at the receiving end after Telangana State President of party Bandi Sanjay Kumar announced that after winning the elections, the GHMC will pay pending challans of the citizens.
He said, the youth are affected by the challan system and if they claim the GHMC elections, the citizens need not worry about challans as the civic body will pay the challans.
Other parties and leaders have come down severely on the BJP for announcing such election promises. The election promise on challans has kickstarted a meme fest on social media.
Even the national media carried out stories on the election promise made by BJP and made fun of the party's election promise.
With receiving criticism from all the corners, including the media, the BJP has not mentioned the challan waivers promise in the manifesto released by former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
It appears like the saffron party has learned its mistake and didn't mention it in its election manifesto for the civic body polls. Looks like the BJP did this as a bid to reduce the damage caused by the promise.
However, just like the Bihar Assembly elections, BJP announced to promise the Covid-19 vaccine if the party wins the elections. The party is hoping to repeat the Bihar result in GHMC elections too.
