A senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader from the Telangana wing of the party got a big elevation in his post as he was nominated to the Upper House of the Parliament. He was nominated from the stronghold of the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP). The party made the list of candidates for Rajya Sabha the other day.

Senior BJP leader Dr. K Laxman, who has been traveling with the saffron party for a long time was selected for a plum post. He was nominated to the Upper House from Uttar Pradesh, the stronghold of the BJP. Laxman is selected for the Upper House from the Lucknow constituency and he will reach the constituency very soon to file the nomination.

Laxman was picked by the party leadership despite a few names being considered by the party for the plum post. The strong loyalist got big support from the party in the Rajya Sabha nominations. His selection is a strong message to the leaders that the party will give a boost to the leaders who give their best to the party.

As Dr. Laxman is heading the National OBC Morcha wing of the party, the party might get a good image among the OBCs who are ignored the most by most of the parties. Usually, the political parties cater to the SC, ST, and other communities. OBC translates to a good amount of votes as the majority of upper castes are not rich.

Dr. Laxman started his career with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad(ABVP), which is the student wing of the RSS. Despite having a job offer in hand, Laxman chose to join the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) in 1980.

After holding various positions, Laxman was made the Hyderabad City President. He tried his luck in the Assembly elections from Musheerabad in 1994. Despite losing the polls, the BJP leaders won the next elections with a big margin. Laxman served as the Deputy Floor Leader in the combined state. He was chosen as the President of the Telangana wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party by the leadership in 2016. For four years, he led the state wing of the BJP.
