BJP Surge In Khammam Leaves TRS Confused

Friday's massive rally by the BJP in Khammam has unnerved the main political parties. Normally, the BJP was never more than an also-ran party. Whenever it contested the election, it had lost its security deposits. For instance, in the last Khammam municipal corporation elections, the BJP contested only 11 of the 60 seats and could get back the security deposit in only one of them.
But, this time, things appear to be quite different. There is a massive upsurge of support for the party. On Friday when Bandi Sanjay toured Khammam, there was a huge rally and the enthusiasm of the youth was palpable. There is a great demand for BJP tickets.
On the other hand, the TRS is suffering internal dissensions. Senior leaders like Tummala Nageshwara Rao and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy are in a non-cooperation mode. They are unhappy that the party had not suitably rehabilitated both the leaders. Even the sitting and the former MLAs too are at loggerheads with one another. All these leaders are working at cross purposes.
Only Ajay Puvvada is currently trying to salvage the situation for the ruling TRS. The BJP on its part, is targeting Ajay Puvvada. It is targeting his land dealings and is claiming that he is in the TRS only for the land grab. Bandi Sanjay had in fact said that Puvvada family were among the biggest land grabbers. He said the BJP would initiate action against Puvvada family when it forms the government.
