BJP targets TMC over MP's sexist behavior

Ahead of the upcoming West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections, both Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) are exploring all the possible options to attract the voters.
Now the video of TMC MP's cheeky behavior is going viral on social media. This gave an opportunity to the BJP to target the TMC which is going for the Assembly polls with Women Empowerment as the main election promise.
Going into detail, the ruling TMC held a press conference recently. At the press conference, Kalyan Banerjee pulled the cheeks of a woman MLA. However, there is no verification of the authenticity of the video.
Actress-turned-politician, Hooghly BJP MP Locket Chatterjee took to Twitter to take a dig at TMC over women empowerment. Sharing the video, the MP said TMC empowering women with a question mark.
'TMC empowering women...? This is TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee and the woman is outgoing Bankura MLA who was miffed for not getting a ticket. Shame!,' Locket Chatterjee's tweet reads.
Women empowerment and the rise in crime against women are the main issues used by TMC and BJP for the upcoming polls. While the Mamata Banerjee government is focusing on women empowerment, the BJP is targeting TMC on the rise in crimes against women. The TMC has fielded 50 women candidates.
