BJP to form Government in Manipur

In the recent Assembly Polls, Congress emerged as single largest party in Manipur by winning 28 seats in 60-member House. Surprisingly, BJP which managed to win just 21 Seats is likely to form government here.
BJP claims to be having the support of 32 MLAs and a representation has been given to Governor in this regard. 'We have the support of 4 MLAs of National People's Party, 4 MLAs of Naga People's Front, 1 MLA of LJP, 1 MLA of Trinamool and One Independent,' says BJP.
Manipur Governor Najma Heptullah told the process of government formation will be initiated once the incumbent CM resigns. Congress Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh will be resigning on Tuesday. Soon after his resignation, Governor would invite BJP to form the Government in Manipur. Around two weeks time would be given for the BJP Government to prove its majority on the floor of the House.
