BJP unable to attract leaders from other parties

Is BJP state president Bandi Sanjay's padayatra losing its steam? Publicity and hype apart, the response to the yatra is anything but encouraging. While the cadres are being mobilised in a big way, the response from the general public is none too inspiring. Even the BJP cadres themselves are admitting that all is not hunky dory.

But the biggest disappointment for the BJP is that there are not many joinings into the party. The BJP expected many leaders from both the Congress as well as the TRS to join the BJP during the yatra. But, contrary to BJP's expectations, several TRS leaders are said to be in touch with the Congress Party.

For instance, former MLA of Kollapur, Jupalli Krishna Rao was expected to join the BJP during the yatra. However, he did not even consider the BJP and is said to be planning to go back to the Congress Party. Several leaders from Mahabubnagar too were expected to join the BJP. But, they too backed out at the last moment.

The BJP is now finding that these leaders are in touch with the Congress Party. Many leaders from Mahabubnagar are said to be attracted to the Congress because of Revanth Reddy's charisma. Thus, the BJP yatra is unable to attract leaders from other parties. The Congress, under Revanth Reddy, is able to lure them on to their side.
