BJP's Vakeel Sahab advocacy boomerangs

It appears that the BJP has completely erred in linking its politics to Pawan Kalyan-starrer Vakil Sahab. The BJP took an unusual interest in the movie and criticized the YSRCP government for not allowing benefit shows for the film on the day of its release.
Interestingly, the Jana Sena was quite circumspect on the issue. Some Pawan fans did go on the rampage over the denial of benefit shows in AP, but the Jana Sena largely kept its cool. But, the BJP was unusually aggressive on the issue. Its national secretary and AP incharge Sunil Deodhar himself led the attack. In fact some circles within the BJP are laughing in derision at the over-enthusiasm of Sunil Deodhar. Some leaders of the BJP have openly disassociated with this over enthusiasm.
They are questioning the party's unnecessary interest in Vakil Sahab. Is it more important than the Vizag steel plant issue, questioned a BJP leader on condition of anonymity. The YSRCP too has attacked the BJP for rooting for benefit shows in times of covid. 'Why is the BJP so much interested in the benefit show? Should we allow such thing at a time when there is a spike in Corona cases,' Minister Perni Nani asked.
