BJP welcomes former Indian cricketer ahead of Punjab Polls

The Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) which is eyeing to make it big in the forthcoming General Assembly in Punjab had welcomed a famous personality hoping that his popularity might get converted into votes in the upcoming elections. The saffron party cadre is in full josh with the new inclusion into the party.
Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Mongia had joined the saffron party in the presence of a few politicians. After taking the primary membership of the party, he wore the saffron shawl at a meeting that was attended by the BJP leaders.
Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was also present at the meeting that saw a few personalities joining the saffron party. Hr warmly welcomed the former Indian player into the party with the party shawl.
Besides Dinesh Mongia, others like former MLA Fateh Bajwa(Congress), eX MLA Gurtej Singh Gudhiyana(Akali Dal), Former Parliamentarian Rajdev Singh Khalsa(United Akali Dal), Retired ADC, and Advocate in Punjab Haryana High Court Madhumeet also joined the party.
The former Indian player Dinesh Mongia who joined the BJP had represented India in 57 One Day Internationals and just one T20 match. After he joined the party, Mongia said that the intention behind joining the party is to serve the people of the state.
