Yogi Adityanath may try to snuff out crime from UP. But, what if there are crimes within the party? The ghastly death of a woman member of the party, who is also the district panchayat member, in UP is rasing question mark over the efficacy of Yogi's prescription to end crime in the state.

25-year-old Shweta Singh Gaur, who is a district panchayat member, was found hanging from the ceiling of her home on Friday. Significantly, her husband, who too is a BJP activist, is found missing ever since she died. No suicide note is found at the scene of the crime.

Shweta Singh's two daughters, both in their schooling, have alleged that their father used to harass her for not begetting a male child. He wanted a male child and Shweta's failure to give birth to a male child led to her frequent harassment. The children said that their father had told them that their mother would be found dead when they come back from the school.

The UP police are investigating the case based on a complaint filed by the two girls. A hunt is on to arrest the husband, who is a BJP activist, but is also into bootlegging. The two girls have appealed to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to ensure that justice was seliered to them.
