Bomb blast in CM's meeting,CM safe,unhurt

In a shocking incident, a low intensity bomb exploded in a public meeting being addressed by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Nalanda district on Tuesday evening. While the CM is safe, the police arrested the person who set off the explosive. The incident has sent shock waves in the political circles.
The incident occurred while Nitish was in Silao village of Nalanda district. Nalanda is Nitish Kumar's home district. Even as Nitish was about to address a public meeting in a school, the explosive went off. The place of the blast was just 18 feet away from where the chief minister was present. The incident triggered panic.
It may be recalled that there was another huge security lapse connected to Nitish Kumar last month. While he was about to get on to the dais, one person advanced menacingly and slapped the chief minister in Bakhtiyarpur. The man was later found to be mentally unsound.
The security apparatus of the chief minister went into a tizzy over the incident. Nitish is one of the longest serving chief ministers in India. He has been in power for nearly 20 years. He is considered to be hugely popular among the masses because of his progressive outlook.
