Britain Strain Of Covid-19: 14 Fresh Infections Detected In India

The new coronavirus mutant strain that was detected in the United Kingdom is spreadings its wings in India. The fresh infections related to the new mutant are increasing with each day passing.
As the latest development, the health officials have found not less than 14 new infections related to the new mutation of the ongoing pandemic. The fresh infections were reported on Wednesday.
The fresh infections were detected. a day after six infections related to the UK lineage of the virus was found. This takes the total count of the infections related to the strain in Indian to 20.
India has to worry about the new strain of the pandemic, as it is more transmissible compared to the previous strain. The strain has also reached many countries already.
India already suspended flight services from the United Kingdom. As a safety measure, all the UK returnees are being traced by the authorities so that the virus is not spread further.
This will be a heavy task for the concerned authorities as so far more than 33,000 passengers are said to hav returned to India from the United Kingdom between November 25 to December 23.
Niti Aayog member Dr. VK Paul said, to detect the United Kingdom strain of Coronavirus, Genome sequencing is being used in the country which will come in handy to detect the train.
To support this, 10 genome sequencing labs have been set up in India. These labs were set up in ten cities. NIBMG Kolkata, ILS Bhubaneswar, NIV Pune, CCS Pune, CCMB Hyderabad, CDFD Hyderabad, In-STEM Bengaluru, NIMHANS Bengaluru, IGIB Delhi, and NCDC Delhi.
