The wait is finally over. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced the much-awaited Union Budget 2021-22 on Monday. She presented Paperless Union Budget, the first of its kind in India.

While presenting the Union Budget, the Finance Minister has announced a road infrastructure plan for the poll-bound states, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Kerala, and Assam.

These four states will have elections in 2021. The saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) is not leaving any stone unturned to create a positive wave for the party in these states.

According to the infrastructure plan, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Kerala will be getting 1.03 lakh crore, 65,000 crore, 95,000 crore respectively under the highway projects.

1.03 lakh crore was allotted for Tamil Nadu to build 3,500 km of roads, while God's own country Kerala will get funds for building 1,500 km of roads. West Bengal and Assam will receive funds to construct 675 km and 1,300 km of roads respectively.

Adding further, the FM said, 100 km of national highway works will be done in Kerala. The works worth Rs 65,000 crore. The works include a 600 km stretch of the Mumbai-Kanyakumari corridor.

Coming to West Bengal, the works in West Bengal include the up-gradation of existing roads Kolkata-Siliguri.

Talking about Assam, the Finance Minister said the national highway works worth Rs 19000 crore are underway in the state, and in the next three years, more than 1300 km of national highways will be undertaken.
