The court hearings on the sexual assault of an Australian Teen by an Indian-origin Man has created a sensation.

Simardeep Singh went to Australia in 2009 and he used to work as a Cab Driver. In 2011, He molested a 20-Year-Old Passenger. On the same day, He raped an 18-Year-Old Girl.

According to the version of Defence Lawyer, Simardeep Singh belongs to a conservative family in Punjab. Hence, He began assuming that women wearing skimpy outfits were prostitutes.

Judge Troy Sweeney, however, ruled Simardeep Singh mayn't be aware of what's fully informed consent but the crime he committed is punishable. In August this year, The 31-Year-Old was sentenced to 5-and-a-half months in prison.

This episode has given scope for debate on Indian Upbringing. Is it fare to blame the society or a country for the crime an individual has committed?
