Can Actor Ali Fulfill His Dreams Of Winning Elections?

Film stars venturing into politics is not a new thing and we have seen this many times. Earlier big stars used to do that. But the trend has changed and not just heroes or heroines, character actors, and comedians are also taking the path. The likes of Rao Gopal Rao, Kota Srinivas Rao, and Babu Mohan served as Ministers and MPs.

Now Actor-comedian Ali also wants to take the same path. He supported the YSRCP before the 2019 polls and even joined the party. Despite his friend Pawan Kalyan starting Janasena, he took the YCP route. Recently he was given the position of AP government's electronic media advisor.

But he wants to run the elections and win them. On a few instances, he said that he was brought up in Rajahmundry and now he wants to try his luck in the constituency if everything goes well. It is said that he has a few constituencies from where he wants to run the polls.

But the question is, can Ali win the elections if he gets a party ticket? As he is a local person he would get a good percentage of votes and no one can assure if he could win the polls or not.

Megastar Chiranjeevi contested the elections from the Palakol Assembly constituency, while his hometown Mogalturu falls under it. But he could not win the polls. Though Praja Rajyam Party losing elections is a big blow, Chiranjeevi losing Palakol came as a stunner.

Another example is of Pawan Kalyan. Given the massive fan following he enjoys, no one expected that he would lose the elections even on his home turf. So this tells us that gone are the days when film stars used to win the polls with their image.

On the other hand, political experts say that there is a big change in the image of YSRCP and things are not as they used to be before the 2019 polls for the pastry. The party came to power promising many. But none of them were fulfilled except for the welfare schemes. States like Andhra Pradesh need development, not welfare schemes. So no one can say if Ali can surely enter the House.
