The Khalistan movement which demands a separate nation for Sikhs got momentum once again and the Khalistan outfits are spreading their wings again. Though the movement is not that strong in India, a western nation with a big Sikh population is seeing protests and rallies in support of the Khalistan movement.
Recently, the Khalistan supporters defaced the Hindu temple in Canada. Now the nation saw massive voting for the Khalistan Referendum in Brampton. The Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) held a massive rally and people across the age groups took part in the rally to show their support.
It is said that the Canadian government is batting a deaf ear to the warning given by the Indian government to deal with the Khalistan movement with an iron fist.
Canada has a strong population of Punjabis and Canada is the dreamland of many Punjabis. The Canadian Parliament has a good number of representations by the Punjabis. The Punjabi population is in the stage to decide the winning party in the polls and they are a good vote bank.
When farmers from Punjab sat for protest, Canada came in support of the farmers and urged the Indian government to sort out the issue at the earliest. Of late, Canada has been in favour of Punjabis and even though they are fighting for a separate nation, the nation is supporting them.
