Cancer Cases On A Rise In India

The report stated that in 2018 the count of cancer cases in India is around 11.6 lakh and 7.85 lakh people have died of this disease.
During their lifetime, one out of 10 Indians develop this disease and one out of 15 will die to this disease.
According to the report, tobacco-related head and neck cancers in men and cervical cancer in women plays a vital role in the cancer patterns in the country.
Out of the 11.6 lakh cancer cases which were reported in 2018, 5.7 lakh cases were reported in men while 5.9 lakh cases in women. Breast cancer, oral cancer, cervical cancer, lung cancer, stomach cancer, and colorectal cancer are common cancer types in India.
One more concern with the report is the increase in the percentage of breast cancer every year. The percentage is increasing from 1.4% to 2.8% percentage mainly in the urban areas.
