BJP Activists Attack Director During TV Debate

Film Director Ameer Sultan hosted the debate on whether the protests in Tamil Nadu were for people's welfare or for political mileage. Even BJP State Secretary Soundararajan participated in the debate.
Ameer raised a question, 'Why Police firing didn't happen during the communal riots in Coimbatore in 2016 & Why cops resorted to firing during Anti-Sterlite Protest?'. Enraged over it, BJP Activists attacked the Film Director and disrupted the proceedings. Even the comment of Ameer about the alleged secret understanding between Rajini and BJP didn't go down well with them. The show was stopped abruptly as BJP Members didn't call off their protest even after 45 minutes.
A Case was booked against the TV Channel, One of its Journalists & Director Ameer for allegedly promoting enmity on religious grounds. This move of Cops was criticized as none of the BJP Leaders and Activists who were responsible for the ruckus were booked. Madras Reporters Guild raised objection over the case filed against the New Channel for holding a debate.
