Goa isn't just known for its beautiful beaches but casinos whether hundreds of crores business happens on daily basis. Guess, The aftereffects of Narendra Modi's November 8th, 2016 statement imposing a ban on old currency notes of high denominations?
Big Shots operating the Casinos were is a dilemma whether to accept old Rs 500 & Rs 1000 notes or not. Even if they accept the old notes, Winners are in no mood to take home the same currency. If Casinos doesn't want to accept Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, They will end up losing a large number of their regular customers for sure.
Casinos are the major revenue generating source for Goa Government. Modi's decision has been a mighty blow to Casinos and State Government. Looking at the current pace at which the exchange of money is happening, The situation remains the same at least for one more month. New Year eve is the only bright spot in the vicinity!
