Special CBI Court To Commence Verdict Of Babri Masjid Demolition Tomorrow
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 Sep 2020 11:30 AM GMTA special Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) court in Lucknow will commence its verdict on the much talked about Babri Masjid demolition case on Wednesday, i.e, tomorrow.
The Babri Masjid demolition took place on the 6th of December, 1992 in Ayodhya. Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) leaders like LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, and senior leader Uma Bharti are the key accused in the case.
Justice SK Yadav will deliver the verdict on the Babri Masjid demolition case. Earlier, he directed the accused in the case to be present in the special court while announcing the verdict.
Former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani, former Union ministers Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, Vinay Katiyar, and Sadhvi Rithambara were some of the 32 accused in the case.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has probed into the case and submitted around 351 witnesses and nearly 600 documents before the Lucknow special court.
The Babri Masjid was demolished on December 6, 1992, by the Kar sevaks who alleged that the Masjid was built on the ruins of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya during the rule of the Mughal emperor.
On November 9, 2019, the Constitution bench led by the then Chief Justice of India(CJI) Ranjan Gogoi announced the verdict stating that the disputed land should be handed over to the temple trust to construct Ram Mandir. An alternative land of 5 acres was allocated to the Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board to built a mosque.
