CBN First White Paper blames YSR regime

As promised earlier Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu unveiled his first white paper briefing about Power status of the AP state.In his detailed report Chandra Babu stated that power generation in the state had increased by 90 percent i.e., from 5640 MW to 10,695 MW after his government bringing reforms between 1996-2004. He blamed congress party for not concentrating on power sector in last ten years.
"AP was the first state in the country in 1998 to usher in reforms in the power sector, when I was the Chief Minister. During that at that time electricity deficit was just 1.5 per cent in the state but it has shot up to 17.6 per cent now." Chandrababu said.
Naidu said that he gave 24 hours interrupted power when he was CM and criticized congress for having no foresight for additional power generation.
"The Congress government had no foresight either for additional power generation or getting power from the new grid. Domestic and industrial consumers got 24 hours power supply during our rule. Now, frequent power cuts are being imposed for domestic consumers and a three-days-a-week power holiday has been announced for industries" he said.
He said an additional financial burden of Rs 28,835 crore was imposed on power consumers between 2004 -2014.Naidu told that the new vision will be integrated with the state's budget.
Chandra Babu said his government will release white papers in five other sectors.Naidu said he had asked officials to work on remaining five subjects and prepare white paper on the 'real condition of the state' to the common man.
Subjects to be covered include human resources development (including health), infrastructure except irrigation, irrigation and agriculture, finance (including 'corruption' in the last 10 years and lack of governance), and problems that cropped up due to bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
