Vijay Sai's Query - Centre's Shocking Reply!
By: Tupaki Desk | 20 Dec 2017 6:42 AM GMTYSR Congress MP Vijay Sai Reddy raised the question how Centre has been continuing Special Status to 11 states in the country even after GST rollout if 14th Finance Commission has passed an order saying such favors shouldn't be extended to any state. In his written reply, Union Minister of State for Finance P Radhakrishnan said Centre isn't extending assistance such as Special Category Status to any of the states. '14th Finance Commission ended the process of assistance to states through Special Category and General Category,' he added.
Whereas, The Union Minister didn't respond properly to the query on Special Package offered to AP. Mr.Radhakrishna just mentioned the Package announced by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
When asked how much did Centre offer to address the revenue deficit in AP, Union Minister informed Centre has sanctioned Rs 3,980 crore for the financial year 2014-15 and it is yet to receive another Rs 138 crore.
Vijay Sai took part in the debate over Amendments to the Company Act. He suggested replacing of Central Pension Scheme with Old Pension Scheme for the welfare of employees.
Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir announced that AP received Rs 12,191.78 crore from various Ministries. He assured Home Ministry will address if any issues arise in the setting up of Educational Institutions in AP & Telangana.
