No Special Status, Only Special Package!
By: Tupaki Desk | 1 Sep 2016 8:49 AM GMTAfter the public meeting of Pawan Kalyan at Tirupati, Centre has speeded up the exercise to address the series issues like Special Status & promises of AP Reorganisation Act 2014. In the past couple of days, CM Chandrababu Naidu made it clear AP willn't accept anything other than Special Status describing it as a Sanjeevani. Even the frequent meetings of Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu, Amit Shah and Sujana Chowdary too have given some hope for the Andhrites.
However, Latest reports confirm that Centre is only keen to offer an attractive Special Package rather than Special Status. Citing the technical issues that arise with Special Status, Union Government wishes to extend most of the benefits it guarantees in the form of package.
Centre agreed to offer Rs 4,000 to 5,000 crore for AP Capital construction. It will take care of the expenditure for the construction of official buildings in core capital. In addition, A agreement will be reached to complete Polavaram in a time-bound manner. Central Funds will be sanctioned to address the revenue deficit.
An official announcement about the Special Package will be made within a week. Most likely, It would come before the public meeting of Jana Sena chief in Kakinada.
