Gadkari Keen To Setup Major Port In Vadarevu
By: Tupaki Desk | 27 Sept 2018 8:07 PM ISTUnion Minister for Shipping, Water Resources, Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari served a letter to AP Government seeking immediate proposals for establishing a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to develop the second Major Port at the Vadarevu Beach, Prakasam District.
Developing Vadarevu Port has been under consideration since 2014. For the first time, Union Government has come forward to take concrete steps in this regard. Centre might offer all the permissions as early as possible if the proposals sent by TDP Government are satisfactory.
Union Government sought close to 3,000 acres for setting up a major port at Vadarevu. As much as Rs 16 lakh crore were allotted for laying national highways and connecting highways in the coastal regions. If the state and central governments work in tandem, There is so much to explore at the Vadarevu Beach. Let's only hope AP Government responds positively to the Letter served by Union Minister.
