Central Observer Chides T BJP Leaders

The era of sending fake reports and getting bouquets from national leaders seems to be over in the Telangana BJP. Till now, whenever the national leadership asked them anything, the leaders from Telangana reeled out well-written reports that claimed big achievements and great successes. Actually, nothing happened on ground. No BJP leader ever tours the state. There are no agitational programmes and there are no rallies and protests anywhere in the state.
But, this seems to be changing. The national leadership no longer believes the state leadership’s claims. It is posing serious questions and is calling them up for explanations. Recently, when a senior BJP observer visited Telagnana, he first toured the districts, met party workers, took their feedback and then came to Hyderabad to meet the leaders. During the meeting, the leaders as usual read out long-winding reports. The leader reportedly snapped them asked how many police cases each leader was facing. Many leaders proudly said that there were no police cases against them. At this, the leader said: What is a political leader if there are no police cases against them for staging protests, holding dharnas and courting arrests? He said the leaders must have cases against them for fighting for the people.
At this, the BJP leaders fell silent. No key BJP leader in the state has ever broken law and fought with the police. The observer reportedly told them to first take to the streets and fight for people’s cause. Leadership and positions of power can wait, he told them.
