Indians traveling to member states of the European Union (EU) are facing issues as the digital Covid certificate scheme followed by the countries does not include the vaccine doses that are used to vaccinate the people in the country.

In order to see that travelers won't face any issues, they should seek the digital Covid certificate by taking the vaccine doses that were authorised by the European Medicines Agency(EMA). Now the EU nations have eased the guidelines.

As a bid to see that Indian travelers will not go through any difficulties, the Union Government had appealed to the EU Nations to exempt Indians administered with Covishield and Covaxin from the travel ban.

Media reports claimed that the Indian government had asked the EU Nations to bar the Indian travelers from the travel ban and consider the Covishield and Covaxin vaccines as authorised.

The Centre reportedly made it clear that if the EU won't consider its appeal to exempt Indians from the travel ban, it will also not accept the European Union (EU) certificates in the country.

Minister of External Affairs of India Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said that India had discussed the vaccine issues with the EU Nations and urged them to consider the Indian vaccines as authorised to allow them to travel to Europe.

As per the European Medicines Agency certificate policy, people administered with Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson were being accepted currently.
