Centre asks Governor to rush to Delhi, then cancels meeting

There was a lot of high drama in Raj Bhavan on Monday in Hyderabad. The Union Home Ministry suddenly summoned Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan to New Delhi by afternoon. The Governor, who was in Puducherry hurriedly returned to Hyderabad to leave for Delhi. However, another communication came from Delhi informing that the scheduled meeting was cancelled.

Why was the meeting called for and why was it cancelled? What was the agenda of the meeting? Why was the Governor called at a time when Telangana CM KCR is in Delhi? Has the meeting got anything to do with the deteriorating relations between the Raj Bhavan and Pragathi Bhavan? Or is it because of the recent raid on a rave party in a pub? There were so many questions but not as many answers.

In fact, the Government recently is being denied protocol and even local level officers are not present when she is choosing to visit rural areas. Several of her outings had to be cancelled due to lack of protocol. The Chief Minister and his ministerial colleagues did not attend the recent Ugadi celebrations organized in the Raj Bhavan. Sources say that the Centre may have decided to seek a report from the Raj Bhavan.

Sources say the Centre is taking a very serious view of the recent busting of the rave party in a star hotel in the city. Several high-profile personalities, including Tollywood singers, actors and wards of political biggies were found to have attended the rave party. The Central Government, which has launched an all-out war on drugs, has decided to take tough action and hence may have asked the Governor to Delhi.

Sources say that the meeting could take place soon. Meanwhile, KCR is likely to return to Hyderabad on Tuesday evening. The sudden fixing and cancelling of the Governor's meeting with the Home Ministry has raised several eyebrows in view of the worsening of Tamilisai's relations with Telangana CM.
