Centre backs VSP privatisation, leaves no option for Pawan Kalyan

The BJP, it appears, is leaving its ally Jana Sena with no choice on the Vizag Steel Plant issue. The Central Government has categorically said that it was committed to privatising the steel plant. Also, it has said that the decision to privatise the steel plant was the right thing to do.

This statement of Minister for Steel Ramachandra Prasad Singh has literally poured water on Jana Sena's fight against the privatisation. He made this statement in response to a question by YSRCP MP Margani Bharat, TD MPs Kesineni Nani and Rammohan Naidu on the issue of privatisation.

The Jana Sena has been strongly opposing the privatisation and has even organised a massive public meeting. Pawan Kalyan spoke at the meeting and said CM YS Jagan should form an all-party committee to fight against the privatisation. The Minister's statement has now put a question mark on the Jana Sena as to whether it would continue the alliance with the BJP.

Pawan Kalyan had lost from Gajuwaka assembly constituency, in which VSP is a part, in the 2019 elections. In his speech Pawan referred to his defeat and said that had he won the election, things would have been different.
