It's Official: Visakha Railway Zone Announced!

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday announced a new Railway Zone for Andhra Pradesh. This new railway zone named as 'Southern Coast Railway' will have Visakhapatnam as its headquarters.
Union Government took a favourable decision four days after BJP delegation from AP met the Union Railway Minister in New Delhi for Visakha Railway Zone. They brought to the notice of Piyush Goyal that Uttar Andhra Region comprising of Visakha, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam are backward districts which needs special assistance for development.
AP BJP Leaders knew they can't go into the public to seek votes during the 2019 Elections if at least Visakha Railway Zone wasn't granted. An announcement in this regard was expected during the recent tour of PM Narendra Modi to AP. However, NaMo focussed only on exposing the alleged tactics of TDP Government to make BJP a scapegoat. At last, The announcement has come from the Railway Minister Today.
Southern Coast Railway - Visakhapatnam Headquarters. It will comprise of Guntur, Vijayawada, Guntakal Divisions & a part of Waltair Division. Finally, Something to cheer for the Andhrites who waited for the fulfillment of this bifurcation promise since 2014.
