Centre Keen To Conduct Jamili Elections In 2023
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 July 2019 4:57 AM GMTNDA Government is working towards the goal of conducting Lok Sabha and Assembly Polls for all states at once. In October 2018, Election Commission has conveyed its consent to hold Parliament and Assembly Elections simultaneously.
Centre is now contemplating on holding even Panchayat, Municipal and Mandal Parshad Elections along with Lok Sabha and Assembly Polls at once. A Bill is likely to be introduced in the upcoming Parliament Session in this regard.
If both the Houses of Parliament approves the bill, Jamili Elections will be conducted in 2023. Which means, The tenure of MPs and MLAs will last for only around 4 years. Those holding Panchayat, Municipal and Mandal Parshad Posts will have to prepare for elections within 3-and-a-half-years.
NDA Government will face a challenge when the Bill was tabled in the Upper House. If it gets approved in the Rajya Sabha, Then Indians should be prepared for the Jamili Elections in 2023.
