Centre's Key Decision To Ban Betting Games!
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 April 2023 10:23 PM ISTThe Modi government at the Centre took a key decision. It swung into action to deal with the online gaming and betting that is spreading its wings. As part of that, it brought new guidelines. A new decision was taken to ban money-based games and betting apps. A self-control idea was proposed for the online gaming sector.
New guidelines were issued by amending 2021 IT acts. As per the guidelines, the platforms have to take precautions so that the consumers won't face any issues. At the same time, betting apps were also banned. A tab was also put on apps that are becoming an addiction to children. Apps that are not an addiction will be spared.
The authorities are hopeful that the new guidelines will help in increasing the online gaming sector further in the country. The new changes aim at increasing trust among investors and competitiveness in the industry. The Union Ministry is saying that they want to root out the gambling platforms and make the industry compete with the international sector.
The new guidelines are brought so that gaming won't become an addiction and no one loses money in that and stays away from fraud. The gaming companies have to change their program so that customers will get messages after a certain time limit is crossed in one gaming session.
One team with an educationalist, psychology expert, a person or officer working for the protection of child rights will work as per the new guidelines. The Centre said that the gaming platforms have to work as per the guidelines or else they will be denotified.
