Centre Makes A Clear Stand On AP Three Capitals
By: Tupaki Desk | 10 Sep 2020 6:46 AM GMTThe Andhra Pradesh three capitals row, which went through many twists and turns took an interesting turn with the Centre filing a counter affidavit in the High Court on three capitals.
In the affidavit, the Centre made it clear that it has no role in deciding the state capital, and its completely the decision of the state government to take a call on capital.
Centre maintained that there is no role that the state should have only a single capital and the Centre can only give financial assistance for the capital. The Centre once again made its stand clear on the capitals.
Talking about High Court, Centre said the previous government set up the court in Amaravati, but that doesn't mean the capital should be in Amaravati only.
This paves way for the shifting of the state High Court from Amaravati. Earlier, petitioners expressed objections to the state government trying to move the High Court.
