Centre approves Rs.1,000 crore to Andhra Pradesh
By: Tupaki Desk | 25 Sep 2015 10:42 AM GMTAP CM Chandrababu's tour to Delhi is giving some fruitful results. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu demanded Centre to release part of fund committed to the state for developmental works following its bifurcation over 15 months ago. Seems the union ministers paid heed to Naidu's request. The government on Friday approved a further 'special assistance' of Rs.1,000 crore to Andhra Pradesh during the current financial year
A package of 1000 crores has been released for Andhra Pradesh from Centre. The centre allotted the sum after hectic lobbying of Chandrbabu in Delhi. Centre released 350 crores for capital construction, 350 crores for backward and underdeveloped districts and 300 crores for the Polavaram project.A tax incentive has also been provided in the Finance Act, 2015. Earlier, Rs.4,403 crore was released to Andhra Pradesh in 2014-15.
While the AP government's overdraft is increasing by the day, the Centre is not releasing any funds from few months and its mounted pressure on Chandrababu and TDP govermnet. Centre seems to be focusing on eyewash as the released amount was nothing compared to what they promised earlier.
