Centre removes SCS from Bifurcation Issues!
By: Tupaki Desk | 12 Feb 2022 4:15 PM GMTIn what could be a sudden development, the Union Government had stepped in to keep an end to the issues pending between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana since the bifurcation of the state. A committee to deal with the disputes was also constituted by the Centre and the maiden meeting chaired by the committee will be held on the 17th of this month.
After the three-member committee was announced, the people of Andhra Pradesh felt very happy that the pending demands will be addressed and the fight for the special status will also get momentum. Leaders like MLA Roja gave massive elevations to Jagan for fighting for the interests of the state.
However, the Union Government had shocked everyone by saying that the Special Category Status (SCS) issue was removed from the list of issues that will be discussed during the meeting. Earlier this day, the Union Government said that the SCS will be discussed. But the Centre changed its decision in a quick time.
The newly appointed committee will see the joint secretary of the Home ministry, Andhra Pradesh Finance Secretary, and Telangana special principal secretary K Ramakrishna Reddy as the members. The Joint Secretary will lead the committee.
