Centre Withdraws Airports Shutdown Order

Tension prevailed at the India-Pak border due to the air strikes carried out by both the neighbouring nations across the Line of Control (LoC) on Wednesdat. While IAF shot down one of the Pakistani Aircraft, An IAF Chopper crashed and a Pilot by name Abhinandan Varthaman went missing.
On Wednesday morning, Union Government ordered for a temporary shut down of Airports close to the border. Subsequently, Airports in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Amritsar, Pathankot, Kulu Manali, Shimla, Pithoragarh and Kangra remained closed.
By evening, Centre issued an order granting the permission for resuming the operations of all the nine Airports. The Notice to Airmen to alert Aircraft Pilots of Potential Hazards along a flight route (NOTAM) was withdrawn to allow the take off and landing of the commercial flights. This decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his residence. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval briefed the PM about the precent situation.
Resuming the operations of commercial flights at the airports close to the border gives a feeling that the situation is still very much under control. Still, Anything can happen in the next 48 hours!
