Hudhud that made a landfall in Visakhapatnam on weekend caused huge damage to Vizag city with gusty winds and heavy rains. Now the city looks like a war-ravaged zone with uprooted trees, knocked down cell towers, transformers, and telephone poles lying strewn at several places.
Almost 10000 crores of rupees damage happened to the city. Every area in the city filled with damaged cars and collapsed houses. On aerial view Babu had seen the damage to the city. Speaking to officials he expressed his anger over central government. As per them, Babu was expecting Modi will announce this as national calamity in order to provide financial assistance to the state. But Modi has not given any such hints till now. In Kashmir floods time Modi immediately responded and announced package, but its a big question for TDP on what reason he is doing nothing to state. As per scheduled visit Modi will do aerial view today.
Death toll in the cyclonic storm rose to 21 as per the latest reports. Some reports suggested 16 more people added to this list. Hudhud did not spare Visakhapatnam airport either blowing away its roof in gales. The operation from airport is halted at this moment due to heavy damage.
