Naravaripalle in Chandragiri Constituency is the native place of Chandrababu Naidu. This is where AP CM got elected as MLA for the first time (1978) and it even fetched him Cinematography Ministry. Chandrababu Naidu, however, faced defeat contesting from the same segment in 1983 polls. Since then, He isn't keen to contest from Chandragiri Constituency again.
In 1989 Elections, Chandrababu Naidu moved to Kuppam Constituency. He kept contesting from the same constituency in all the elections since then.
The last time TDP won in Chandragiri was during 1994 Assembly Polls. It faced defeat in 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014 Elections.
Recently, Former Minister Galla Aruna refused to continue as Chandragiri in-charge. Local Leaders brought the proposal of making Nara Lokesh in-charge of the constituency so as to bring back lost glory. However, Chandrababu Naidu had quickly appointed another in-charge as he doesn't want to risk his son's future.
