Strong buzz is doing rounds that AP CM Chandrababu Naidu would sacrifice his Kuppam Seat for his Son Nara Lokesh so as to project him as CM Material. TDP Supremo is likely to contest from Tirupati Assembly Constituency.
TDP Leadership want Nara Lokesh to contest from one of the 7 Assembly Constituencies where the party never faced defeat since its inception. Initially, Hindupur in Anantapur District was considered. The plan has been dropped after Balayya maintained that he would contest against from the same segment which proved lucky for Nandamuri Family.
As of now, Kuppam is under the consideration for Lokesh as it is the constituency from which Chandrababu Naidu got elected to Assembly six times. Chandrababu Naidu is of the view that he could influence the voters in Chandragiri, Nagari, Sathyavedu and Srikalahasti if he contests from Tirupati.
Political Opponents ask, Why did TDP Candidates in many of the Assembly Segments falling under Chittoor Parliament Segment couldn't win even though Chandrababu Naidu contested from Kuppam in 2014 Polls? Naidu might certainly win if he contests from Tirupati but there is no guarantee that other TDP Candidates will get benefitted from any such move as several factors will play a role.
