Naidu picked businessmen cum politicians Sujana Chowdary and TG Venkatesh for the two seats and offered one seat for BJP. There was a storm brewing in the TDP after announcement of RS candidates. Senior leader JR Pushparaj was deeply upset and started crying foul over denial of the RS ticket..
Pushparaj said that initially he was assured of the seat and alleged Chandrbabau Naidu had cheated him in the last minute by showing empty hands. The former minister alleged that TG venkatesh got the seat using his money power. He laments that the present day TDP is very different from what it was during NTR's days.
"Being a Dalit and senior leader I have pinned hopes on my RS nomination. There is no respect for seniors in the party and senior members are bypassed for younger people with money. Present TDP is very different from older days and there is no place for weaker sections in the party" Pushpa Raj said
Meanwhile all RS members of the state likely to get elected unanimous as parties fielded candidates only according to their respective strengths in Assembly.
