Is Babu Afraid Of Campaigning In Telagana?
By: Tupaki Desk | 16 Nov 2018 8:10 AM GMTChandrababu Naidu, who has earlier said he would not campaign in Telangana, now says he will campaign during Telangana elections. But, here's a rider! He will address meetings only when accompanied by Rahul Gandhi. This has set off a furious debate within the TDP and also the Congress.
It may be recalled that when TDP cadres wanted him to address meetings on behalf of the TDP during the Telangana elections, Chandrababu said that he cannot address public meetings. He said he wold provide them with all material support, but will not speak in public meetings in Telangana. The TDP leaders returned very disappointed.
But, now he sayd he will address public meetings in 18 assembly constituencies and AICC chief Rahul Gandhi will accompany him. This about-turn is giving an impression that Chandrababu is afraid of campaigning in Telangana alone. He will do only when the AICC chief is with him. Many are asking if he is afraid of KCR bringing up the Cash for Vote scam. Does he feel he is safe because Rahul Gandhi is around to help him out, they are asking.
It may be recalled that Chandrababu hurriedly left Hyderabad in the wake of the Cash for Vote scam. His close follower and then Telangana TDP chief Revanth Reddy was caught red-handed while offering money to buy the vote of Anglo-Indian nominated MLC Stephenson for the MLC elections. The probe led to Chandrababu's door step as his telephonic talk with Stephenson also became public. This will be Chandrababu's first electioneering in Telangana after 2014 elections.
