Has Chandrababu Forgotten This Simple Logic?

Sometimes cleverest people make the silliest mistakes. Is Chandrababu, a self-confessed genius, too making a costly error of judgement? Yes, say those in the know of law and the court.
Chandrababu has been served with arrest warrant in connection with the protests at Bhabhali project in Maharashtra. The notices were served by Dharmabad court. The TDP is making a mountain out of molehill by making this an issue of Telugu prestige. The pro-TDP media too has gone overboard saying that it was at Narendra Modi’s behest that the warrants were issued. But, the fact is, Chandrababu was asked to appear before the court in connection with the case longtime ago. But, Babu refused to appear. It was only because he did not attend that a non-bailable warrant was issued. What Chandrababu can easily do is to approach the court through his lawyer. He can attend once and then recuse himself from further attendance by simply filing an affidavit. But, Chandrababu saw political benefit out of even this. He is trying to portray the whole thing as an issue of Telugu pride and Telugu honour. The pro-TDP media too is making this a big issue and is trying to bring in Modi and the BJP.
The fact is - Modi is not even remotely connected with the case. Not even the Maharashtra government connected with this. This is a legal matter. The case was filed when both undivided AP and Maharashtra had Congress governments and the BJP was nowhere in picture. The arrest warrants wuld not have been issued if only Chandrababu attended the court when he was summoned years ago. More importantly, it is with the same Congress that arrested him that he is going to have an alliance in Telangana and possibly in AP too.
It is clear that Chandrababu is planning to win sympathy votes. He wants to show the BJP as a villain in this piece. Some sources even suspect that Chandrababu will make a huge drama and surrender before the court himself. This appears to be what the TDP people want.
But, the most important thing is will he really be able to derive benefit? Will he able to browbeat the people of Telangana and Andhra? Will this translate into votes for him at the hustings? Will he able to convince the people that it is not the congress but the BJP, which is responsible for the arrest warrant? Will not the Dharmabad court take cognizance of Chandrababu's comments and book him for contempt of the court?
Well!! We have to wait and see how Chandrababu unveils the drama.
