Chandrababu Naidu, Narayana move AP HC against CID notices
By: Tupaki Desk | 18 March 2021 9:19 AM GMTThe Andhra Pradesh wing of the Crime Investigation Department(CID) which is probing the alleged land scam in Amaravati, the proposed capital city in AP during the regime of the previous TDP government made a major break through.
On the grounds of allegedly collecting lands that were assigned to SCs and STs for land pooling, CID filed a case against TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu under the SC/ST atrocities act.
Days after the case was filed against him, Chandrababu Naidu moved the Andhra Pradesh High Court against CID notices. Chandrababu Naidu filed a quash petition in the High Court.
TDP leader, former Minister Narayana had also filed a quash petition in the High Court seeking directives to quash the FIR filed against him in connection with the alleged land scam.
The division bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court told the advocates that it would take up the petition for hearing on Friday. Now all the eyes are on the Court hearing in this regard.
Earlier, the CID slapped notices to Chandrababu Naidu and Narayana to appear before the investigating officer on the 23rd of this month. In the notices, the CID reportedly mentioned that if not appeared before the officer could result in their arrest.
The CID sleuths have registered an FIR under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act 1989, AP Assigned Lands (Prohibition of Transfers) Act 1977, and other sections.
