Business Tycoons To Upper House Again Babu?
By: Tupaki Desk | 28 Dec 2017 11:52 AM GMTThere was a time when Telugu leaders used to play a key role in central politics. Ever since Babu rule started the number of leaders speaking in the legislative houses decreased. Babu who gives huge importance to business magnets turned politicians have done so much damage to AP. In fact, Telangana has more leaders who voice their strong opinions in the legislative houses than AP now.
Lack of strong leaders who voice their opinions has done so much damage to AP during the bifurcation. But Chandrababu is not learning the lessons even now. He gave clear indications of his priorities by sending Kurnool based industrialist TG Venkatesh to Rajya Sabha. What TG Venkatesh has spoken in the Rajya Sabha for the welfare of AP is a big question till now.
On the other hand, the term of five Rajya Sabha is going to end on April 2018. These five MPs are elected from the united AP. Among these five MPs, Chiranjeevi.. Renuka Chowdary.. T. Devender Goud are from AP. CM Ramesh.. Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar are from Telangana. Three of them are from Congress party and two MPs are from TDP. As Congress has no presence in AP and weak in Telangana, it is impossible to get a chance to elect even a single MP now.
Out of these five, Telangana will get 2 seats and AP will get 3. TRS candidates have bright chances of getting elected for the two seats from Telangana. If we talk about AP, two may go to TDP.. one seat may go to opposition party YSRCP. As the ruling party is encouraging the defections from the opposition, it is doubtful whether they can get a chance to send at least one MP to Rajya Sabha.
If we talk only about the two MP candidates from TDP, who will get the chance now? According to the reliable information, Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh may get the chance once again. He is confident that Chandrababu will give him the opportunity. So, Chandrababu is giving importance to a businessman again. Then what about the second MP seat?
There is a widespread opinion that Babu should send a leader who has good knowledge of the problems faced by AP and raise the state's issues in Upper House, rather than another businessman. We have to wait and see how Babu is going to do.
