TFI in Amaravati's Media City: Will That Work?
By: Tupaki Desk | 26 Dec 2017 7:36 AM GMTAP Government held talks with few Tollywood and Bollywood personalities for the development of Film Industry in the state. CRDA prepared proposals to offer incentives for Films being shot in the Capital region. Even the plan to construct a Film Studio in 20 to 30 acres is under consideration.
Already, State Government finalized the proposal for establishing Media City near Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Ananthavaram. In the Media City, Film-Television Industry, Animation-VFX-Gaming, Digital Ad-Social Media and Telecom Industry will be given priority. Companies which come forward to establish their units will be offered land for nominal price (Rs 50 lakh per 1 acre). Makers could claim reimbursement for those films which are shot in the media city. Single-Window Clearances will be introduced for granting permissions for shootings. Telugu News Channels which come forward to establish their offices will get lands for low prices.
It's an undeniable fact that Tollywood is based in Hyderabad. Studios such as Ramoji Film Studio, Annapurna Studio, Ramanaidu Studio, Padmalaya Studio and Saradhi Studio are very convenient for Film Shootings & Post-Production Work. Though most the well-established Film Families have roots in Andhra, They consider Hyderabad as home even after bifurcation and don't want to go anywhere else. During the Prapancha Telugu Mahasabhalu, The who's who of Tollywood proudly announced - 'Mana Hyderabad..Mana CM KCR'. How far the measures taken by AP Government to shift TFI to Amaravati will yield results in such a situation?
