Kathi Mahesh today is a hot potato. Nobody wants to touch him now. He is not wanted in Telangana and has been externed. Now, even Andhra Pradesh Government is not interesting in keeping him in his native Chittoor. It is worried that the BJP – RSS- VHP combine will used Kathi Mahesh to rally supporters. If the BJP-RSS launch an agitation against Kathi Mahesh, it would consolidate Hindu voters. This will also divert the attention from issues like special status and neglect of Andhra Pradesh, which Chandrababu Naidu had carefully scripted. A Hindu-non-Hindu atmosphere will definitely benefit the BJP.

So, Chandrababu has reportedly decided not to allow Swami Paripoornananda and other Swamis to take advantage of the situation. Since, Paripoornananda has a wide following in Andhra region also, Chandrababu feels that he can whip up sentiments in the coastal districts also. Hence, he is planning to deport Kathi Mahesh to neighbouring Karnataka.
