Rajahmundry rechristened as Rajamahendravaram

State Government made its intention clear soon after the completion of auspicious Godavari Maha Pushkaralu which arrives once in 144 years. A Government Order (GO) in this regard will be issued soon.
Apparently, The city of Rajahmundry got rechristened as 'Rajamahendravaram' which is a name derived from a king of Chalukya Dynasty during the 11th Century.
Rajahmundry is located on the banks of Godavari river. It is currently the headquarters of Rajahmundry Urban & Rural Mandals apart from being the major business centre in the district. AP CM have big plans to develop this city by next General Elections.
