AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed his displeasure over the caste tag attached to Nandi Awards during the TDP Strategy Committee meeting. 'Had if I knew such a situation would arise, A survey would have been conducted through IVRS to pick up Awards winners based on people's opinion. Is it fair to bring caste into Awards? Few people have made allegations intentionally. It's not true that Nandi Awards were offered to one particular community. Such comments have pained Me,' he said.

Chandrababu Naidu said Jury Members were given complete freedom in choosing the Awards Winners. He claims to have made a mistake by announcing awards for three years at once. 'In future, We will ensure there is no scope for criticism. We will consider using IVRS to pick up Award Winners in future,' he told.

People had the feeling it's better to use IVRS rather than relying on few individuals. If that happens, Government will be able to defend itself by saying Awards were given as per people's choice.

Earlier, Producers Bandla Ganesh and Nallamalapu Bujji described Nandi Awards as Cycle Awards & Kamma Awards for denying awards to Baahubali, GAV, Race Gurram and Rudramadevi.
