Tension gripped the Guntur district with the death of senior TDP leader Thota Chandraiah. It is said that he was attacked by unidentified men and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) village President lost his life due to the fierce attack. The sad news had raised the political heat in the region at once.

Following the procedure, the last rites of the TDP leader were done in his village. The TDP leaders took part in the last rites. Foret about others, TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu himself took part in the last rites and bid his emotional goodbye to the leader.

Not just participation, the former Chandrababu Naidu carried the body of the deceased leader along with other family members. After completion of the last rites, Chandrababu Naidu assured the kin of the deceased that the party will stand with him and will help them. Having announced his offer to support the TDP leader's family, Chandrababu Naidu handed over the cheque to the family.

On the occasion, Chandrababu Naidu had recalled the services done by Thota Chandraih for the party. Alleging that the ruling party is supporting the political vendetta, Chandrababu Naidu said, already 10 leaders were lost in the Palnadu region alone.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo had also assured that the party will protect and safeguard the leaders working for the party and the protection will be granted for the party workers from such incidents.

Tracing back the incident, Thota Chandraiah, who is serving as the Village President for the TDP party in the Macherla region was attacked by a few unidentified men. It is alleged that the attack was planned by the ruling party activists. However, there is no official confirmation on this.

The incident took place when the victim Thota Chandraiah was traveling on his two-wheeler. He was reportedly blocked by a few men who launched an attack on him leaving his breath his last.

The concerned Police had swung into action to take the accused into custody. A case was registered already and the investigation to probe the case is underway. More details and information are awaited.
