When Chandrababu Publicized Polavaram Works Out Of Nothing
By: Tupaki Desk | 14 July 2020 11:30 AM GMTTDP Supremo Chandrababu Naidu who claims himself as a great visionary leader couldn't do much to the progress of the Polavaram projects as the previous government paid attention to only promotions.
According to YSRCP leaders, all he did during his regime is fixing a small gate and the media channels that support the TDP party promoted the works as if the entire project is completed.
Before the 2014 elections, Chandrababu claimed that they will construct the gates for the project but coming to reality he failed to establish a single gate which shows the importance given by the government for the project, they alleged.
When he was in power, Chandrababu took a step ahead and even shared a video of him launching a small gate at the project which cost about Rs 8 lakh and termed the launch of the gate as a historic movement.
While the guidelines state that the height of the piers should be 55 meters, the previous government decreased the height and the piers were constructed at a height of 29 meters which makes it very difficult to establish a gate.
Back then when the TDP was in power the party leaders claimed that by the end of 2018 the project will be completed and challenged YS Jagan Mohan Reddy when he was in opposition.
After attaining power, the ruling YSRCP focused on the project works and made all the efforts to see that the Polavarm the dream project for Andhra people gets completed.
As part of this, recently the world's biggest girders were placed on block- 45 and 46 of the spillway which is cited as a crucial point in the project work.
