Chennai - Be Prepared for the Worst!

The present situation in Chennai is nothing short of a crisis with heavy rains since the last night. Never ending rains make the city look like an ocean with water everywhere, be it on the streets or houses or offices.
The recent rains broke century long record. In Chennai, 108.8 cm rain was recorded in the month of November 1918. That record was broke in just a single day with 119.7 cm of rainfall.
All the schools have been shut down postponing the half-yearly exams and even colleges were shut down. Chennai airport is water-logged and About 700 people got stranded. Civil Aviation Authorities declared the airport will remain closed due to heavy rain. Numerous trains have been cancelled and there were hardly any sources of transportation with bus services getting affected as well. There was no power supply in Chennai since last night.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Chief Minister J Jayalalitha and offered all possible support to Tamil Nadu. Army swung into action to carry out the rescue operations. Relief Material, Rescue Teams & Doctors from Vizag reached Chennai in the INS Airavat.
People need to prepare for worse in the coming days as IMD predicted heavy rains in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry till December 5th.
